Dr. Zachary!

So this week we are talking about Doctors, and today we made these CUTE Dr's bags, and mirror headbands. So fun to make. Basically we just folded a piece of paper in half, and on the insides taped in: Q-Tips, Cotton Balls, Large craft Sticks (tongue depressors) and band-aids (the monkey ones). Zach had so much fun taping everything on, and showing me what everything was for, he especially loved demonstrating how to use the tongue depressor-which shocked me because that's his most hated part of the Doctors trip. Then for the headbands we just measured some construction paper to fit his head and he put foil on a piece of cardboard we had cut into a circle. He has loved carrying around his Dr Bag all day, and keeps opening it and "fixing" things :)

(don't you love the look on his face, he is growing less tolerant of me taking pictures of him while he is trying to play, lol)

Police Officer Zachary!

So, this week we've been talking about Police Officers, and all the great things they do, so yesterday we made these cute police hat & vest. Zach was pretty unsure about putting on the vest after he finished coloring it, but once I pretended to put it on he was OK, then I said "just leave it on long enough for mommy to take a picture, OK" and he graciously obliged me, lol but then he realized it was pretty fun :) Such a cutie! So today we did a "mug shot" where basically I just laid out some paper, and traced his outline to his waist, and then drew a face and had him color it and we put on this cute card for it to hold, so fun!! He's been walking over to it on the door pointing out all the eyes, ears, nose, etc and saying, ME! hehe, silly boy :)

Valentines Fun :)

Hope everyone had a great valentines day! We kicked it off a little early, on Thursday Zach made a cute "love bug" valentines project, which he loved to carry around when it was done... he probably would have covered it in foam hearts if i hadn't stopped him :)

Then Friday night we had our newly started Friday night Family movie night Tradition, its been pretty fun so far :) This week we watched the Curious George movie, and then after Zach went to bed we watched Pineapple Express (which was hilarious!)

Saturday (Valentines Day) Joe came home after work with beautiful flowers for me, and (most excitedly for Zach) a Lightning McQueen balloon for Zach, [after the big hit the balloon he got me last year was with Zach, Joe figured he'd get one Zach would really love, lol.]

Then Saturday night we went out to Magleby's for Dinner (thanks again Gma & Gpa for watching Zach!) It was a very yummy dinner, and very nice to spend some time just Joe & I :)

After dinner we went to pick up Zach from Gma & Gpa Magleby's and he was soo engrossed with the Cars book Grandpa was reading him :)

So Peaceful!

Well, Zach started falling asleep during lunch today, so I got him up and put him in bed, and afterwards I was picking up the living room and noticed his Eeyore was out on the couch (gasp, lol) so I went back into his room to put it in his crib and noticed him all snuggled in with Eve. And it was so cute I had to take a picture! I cant think of anything more peaceful than a picture of a sleeping baby! (well, I guess a sleeping toddler *tear, sniffle*)

2 1/2 year Check-up Stats!

Today Zach had his 2 1/2 year check-up (its not really part of the well child checkup but his dr wanted to make sure his growth was staying on his curve! :) He was Soo pleased with him, with ow well he is doing, he cant believe how big he has gotten, and several times during the appointment he would jsut shake his head and say "I cant believe how great he is doing" and "I cant believe how big he is". It was really fun for him and at the end of the appt he looked at me and jsut said "Did you ever think he would get to this point?" And honestly, i cant believe we finally made it to having a normal 2 yr old!

So here's the numbers! He is right on track, staying steady with his growth curve!

Weight: 27 lb 6 oz (10%)

Length: 35 1/2 inches (50%)

Head : 47.8

Also, this last week we dove back into the painting, lol. So we did truck tire painting, which Zach loved!! It combined 2 of his favorite things: Cars, and his new love of paint, lol

Finger Paints!!

The other day we broke out the finger paints for the first time! Zach has had such issues with smooth textures (like paint!) that until now he would freak out if it got on his fingers... but not anymore apparently! He went right to town smearing it all over his paper! he LOVED it!! We will have to do this more often, he had a BLAST!!

1. I always swore that I would never cut my hair short when I had kids just because it would be easier to deal with, lol but I did
